Connie West

I started painting in my teens, but didn’t think about selling them until I was in Reno where my husband was attending UNR. Herb Caen, SF Examiner columnist, said of paintings I sold there “The best selling art at the recent Nugget Casino were the paintings of 23-year-old Connie West.” One of my paintings, The Veil of Veronica, was chosen to hang in Bishop Manogue High School in Reno. My first commission was for painting of a Vaquero now hanging in the historic Serrano Adobe, part of the Heritage Hill Historical Park, in Orange County, CA.

My paintings are hanging in locations in Southern and Northern, CA and across the country. In 1971 I received a BA in Art from CSU Long Beach and then did Master’s Degree work at CSU Long Beach and Sacramento.
My current painting emphasizes Italian architecture/culture, rural landscapes and seascapes.
